INSTALL AND USE THE EQUIJACK IN 6 SIMPLE STEPS

The EquiJack is ideal for lifting haynets between 10kg and 30kg to drain after soaking as well as being useful to hang the net in your horse’s stable.

WARNING: Please visit our safety page before using your Equijack.  The Equijack could cause injury or death if used incorrectly.

How to use videos can be found at the bottom of this page.

CLIP THE EQUIJACK TO TWINE OR A METAL RING

Before each use always check your EquiJack for serviceability; checking all parts are in good working order before using.

We advise fixing the clip to twine or a metal ring.  For best results ensure the twine/ring is positioned 20-25cm above where you usually tie your haynet.

In this picture the clip is attached to the ring and the haynet will be tied to the twine which sits 25cm below the ring.

HOOK THE HAYNET

The haynet should be hooked about 15-20cm  below the mouth of the net.  Every haynet is different so you may need to place your hook further down the net if you find your net does not lift high enough.   The lower down the net you place the hook the higher the mouth of the net will rise.

Ensure the hook goes through both sides of the net so that it lifts evenly and no hay is spilt.  If you are unable to place the hook through both sides of the net then tie the mouth of the net shut to avoid hay spillages.

PULL THE HANDLE AND WATCH YOUR HAYNET RISE

Pull the handle until the haynet hook reaches the top pulley.  Make sure you pull down rather than out so that the rope fixes between the cleat. Before letting go of the rope make sure the rope is fixed in the cleat so that the net does not fall to the ground.

STORING THE ROPE AS YOU LIFT THE NET

When pulling the rope to lift the net you will end up with a long length of rope, it is imperative that this does not end up on the floor as this becomes a trip hazard.  We suggest holding the excess rope.  When tying the net we suggest either hooking the handle out of the way or holding onto it whilst you tie your net.

TIE YOUR HAYNET AS NORMAL

The EquiJack will hold the net in place enabling you to easily tie your haynet.

Man removing the EquiJack

REMOVE THE EQUIJACK

To easily remove the EquiJack, pull the rope towards you and then up to release it from the cleat. Once the rope is free from the cleat hold the hook and pull down releasing it from the haynet.

Unclip the EquiJack from the twine/ring and remove from the stable.

*Never leave your EquiJack in the stable with your horse or pony.*

STORING THE EQUIJACK

Always store the EquiJack out of reach of children and animals. When putting the EquiJack away, make certain that it’s placed securely to prevent it being a trip hazard.

A GENTLE REMINDER …

WARNING: Please visit our safety page before using your Equijack.

The Equijack could cause injury or death if used incorrectly.
